Sunshine Recorder 2015
Sunshine Recorder card
300mm x 50mm
The Sunshine Recorder is a method of recording sunshine by burning a trace into a card over the course of a day. The Campbell Stokes Sunshine Recorder, a glass sphere which magnifies light to trace the sunshine over the day is a 19th century method still used today by bureaus of meteorology to measure hours of sunshine.
These Sunshine recorder cards are on loan from the Bureau of Meterology, Sydney for this project.
Condon has displayed the sunshine recorder cards to produce wall and floor shadows of the burnt trace of visible light.
