'Current Distortions' explores the process of subversion. The term subvert originates from the Latin word subvertere, from sub- ‘from below’ and vertere ‘to turn’. This resonates with the artist's current practice, documenting projected portraits as they twist and morph from the disruption of water currents. For Condon, the disintegration of the image is an act of subverting conventional notions of self and identity.
